Job Role: Design Engineer I – Wireless (Assessed)

Job Description:
General:
- Design and modify network components supporting customer communication implementation activities under the general supervision of more experienced planners.
- Assist with network architecture design and feasibility studies.
- Assist in developing alternative routing scenarios and implementation schedules.
- Develop moderately complex network plans. Manage and assign physical and logical platform assignments for new/existing circuit layout records to support capacity augments, network optimization, rehomes, special projects and new technology under supervision of more experienced engineers.

Technical Skills:
- Possess the engineering ability (under the supervision of experienced planners) to develop moderately complex network plans.
- Possess the technology background to acquire a working understanding of the following network platforms, associated functions and integration requirements:
- Possess a working understanding of wireline and wireless network architectures.
- Possess the technical ability to conduct network design and feasibility assessments under the supervision of experienced planners.

Accountabilities (major/routine/minor):
- Assign physical and logical platform assignments under supervision of experienced engineers. (routine)
- Access reports and databases to gather data on platform and site capacity status (minor)
- Assist experienced engineers in the development of options to resolve port constraint situations (routine)
- Maintain tool and database integrity for assigned platforms (major)
- Work directly with local Field Operations teams to support rehomes, network grooming and optimization plans.
- Report on port capacity at a network element or platform basis (minor)

Personnel Skills:
- Fluent in English (written and oral)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix management environment
- Demonstrated ability to assist in the development of network solution presentations
